What a Thousand Images Will Never Do

An image is worth more than a thousand words. But what could be worth more than a thousand images? Any idea?  The real thing of course!

No one will deny that help content has to be contextual. And if help can be provided contextually, then it’s better than including images and a lot of text.

Can users learn about their product while in the flow of work? People learn by doing. So what could be better than images and videos? What could be better than simulations?

I already told you – it’s the real thing.

What can the audience expect to learn?

I will be introducing digital adoption as a solution where help is created as an overlay over a product. Attendees will learn the following:
– Why there’s no need to capture an image or a video if the user is learning while on the product.
– How Content can be contextualised both by who the user is and where the user is located. And all this is done without any developer involvement.
– When most content is a one-size-fits-all, is it possible to understand how much your audience knows, and then give them the missing piece of the puzzle? How is it done?
– Instead of users needing to click a help link and read information about HOW to do a task, can clicking a link actually PERFORM the task for the user? How can we think 2 steps ahead of the problem? Can help truly become a verb?

Many writers have ported content from one Knowledge base to another. Is it possible that the last migration that they did, could truly be the last one? How can such a thing even be possible?

I will attempt to unveil the complete picture about the future of help. And how a thousand images are never enough.
