Counting Dragons: Quantifying Obstacles to Content Reuse

Presentation Abstract

This presentation and demo address the following:
1. What are the top obstacles to content reuse?
2. How many of those obstacles can be quantified in existing content BEFORE a team attempts to refactor that content for reuse?
3. What (free) tools are available to interrogate XML DITA and Markdown source topics?
4. How can output from these analytic tools be modeled in a spreadsheet so teams get a clear picture of the relative costs of refactoring one domain of content versus another?
