Delivering Product Documentation using the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)

Presentation Abstract

Agile principles to develop and deliver software and systems at scale. The framework breaks silos, empowers individuals and delivers software products in a fast, iterative and repeatable manner. Multiple teams work concurrently to produce and deliver the product.

The multiple teams include a Portfolio team managing the potential work funnel, a Program team evaluating and approving projects and multiple feature teams working in iterative sprints to produce the product. Each team has cross-functional representation from development, testing and product management. The Program and Feature teams are part of the Agile Release Train (ART).

The role of Shared Services teams, such as the documentation team, is included in the framework, but not clearly defined.

The presentation is the showcase of a concept, whose pilot is currently underway, to establish a shared services operational model to deliver documentation for a product release. The product uses the SAFe framework for development and delivery.
